Driver Intervention Program for your OVI or DUI Arrest

NOTE:  Our DIP program is not held at our office location.                                                                                                     It is conducted at the hotel locations listed above.

The State of Ohio has mandatory sentencing for individuals convicted of OVI or DUI.  If an individual is convicted of a first offence OVI or DUI, there is a mandatory jail sentence of 3 days.  The court may allow you to participate in a 72 hour / 3 day Driver Intervention Program (DIP) as an alternative, as long as the program is state approved.

Second Chance Counseling Center offers a state certified 3 day DIP program.  Our program is certified by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS).

What is DIP?

• 72 hour residential program in a local hotel
• Helps clients understand the dangers and the seriousness of drinking and driving
• Promotes safety through education
• Provides education, assessments and counseling to help you be successful after the program
• Provides a staff evaluation and recommendation for follow up, if necessary.

DIP Rules and Regulations

• You must be free from alcohol and drugs throughout the program
• You must complete the entire 3 day program to receive a completion certificate for the court
• Guests are not permitted
